Planning removals to Valencia from the UK? You've chosen one of Spain's most liveable cities, and we're here to make getting there simple. At Gentlevan Removals, we've been helping UK families and professionals relocate to Valencia since 2011. We know the route, we understand the paperwork, and we'll look after your belongings every step of the way.
Being a family-run business, we've helped countless individuals and families move to Valencia and across Europe. We collect from anywhere in the UK and run the job on our own vehicles from our Oxfordshire yard. Our experienced team provides a friendly, personalised approach, including professional packing options, customs clearance support and door-to-door delivery, backed by our own European fleet: road trains for the long-distance runs, and smaller vehicles for the final approach where a street will not take a large lorry.
Gentlevan offers a straightforward UK to Valencia removals service for a wide range of customers. This includes families relocating their entire household, single homeowners downsizing, retirees seeking Mediterranean sunshine, and couples moving smaller loads. Whether you need a few items transported or a complete house removals solution, we collect from Scotland, Wales, England, and anywhere else across the UK.
The journey from the UK to Valencia is approximately 1,100-1,300 miles, typically routed through France or via ferry from Portsmouth to northern Spain. Our fleet ranges from 3.5-tonne Luton vans to 36-tonne road trains, meaning we can match the right vehicle to your move, including smaller vehicles for Valencia's historic Ciutat Vella, where narrow streets require careful planning.
Trusting Gentlevan with your relocation means knowing exactly what to expect throughout the journey:
Valencia consistently ranks among Europe's best cities for expats. It balances urban amenities with a relaxed Mediterranean pace of life that Madrid and Barcelona can't quite match. With over 300 days of sunshine annually, affordable living costs around 30-40% lower than in London, and a thriving expat community, it's no wonder so many Brits are relocating here.
The city is the birthplace of paella, home to the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences, and host to Las Fallas, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage festival held each March. Mild winters rarely drop below 10°C, and the famous Turia Gardens provide green space right through the city centre. A single person can live comfortably on €1,500-1,800 per month, while families typically budget €3,500-4,000 for a comfortable Mediterranean lifestyle.
The UK to Valencia removals company you choose matters a lot, and Gentlevan Removals stands out as the trusted option. It combines the reliability and capability of a top European moving team with personalised services, thanks to its family-run business nature. With regular routes into Spain, UK-wide collection and the ability to handle small to full-house moves, Gentlevan guarantees smoothly managed services supported by years of Valencia experience.
What sets Gentlevan Removals and Storage apart?

Gentlevan ensures that the UK to Valencia removals are stress-free and simple through easy-to-follow steps.
The cost varies depending on property access at both ends, the volume of items, the time of year, and whether you opt for dedicated or part-load transport. Additionally, the cost of moving to Valencia will differ since every move takes different routes, scheduling and space.
So, how can you save money when planning your relocation to Valencia?
Since Brexit, a move to Spain from the UK requires certain customs clearance procedures. For your Valencia removal, the essential documents include a detailed, signed inventory list, a passport copy, your NIE number (Número de Identidad de Extranjero), and a Padrón certificate from Valencia town hall confirming residency registration. If you qualify for Transfer of Residence (Franquicia por Cambio de Residencia) relief, you can import your household goods without paying the 21% Spanish VAT (IVA), your belongings must have been owned for at least six months and you must be transferring your habitual residence. We handle the T1 transit documentation and guide you through every step of the process, from transit declarations to document preparation, so you're never dealing with it alone. MoveProtect, our optional service providing increased liability cover, can be arranged before your move.
A dedicated vehicle runs door to door in 3-5 working days. A shared or part load takes 7-21 working days, because the vehicle is filled and emptied around your consignment. Transit time depends on the route we take, the Portsmouth to Santander ferry or Dover to Calais and the road down through France.
Yes. Some areas, like Ciutat Vella (the Old Town), have vehicle access restrictions. We arrange shuttle services or use smaller vehicles to reach every address, including the most characterful corners of the historic centre.
Yes. Return journeys to the UK from Valencia run throughout the year, and because the vehicle is coming home either way a shared return load is usually the cheapest option. Prices, transit times and collection areas are set out on our Spain to UK removals page.
We have secure warehouse facilities in the UK. We offer two months of free storage with international moves to or from Spain, with direct delivery to your Valencia address when you're ready.
You'll need your NIE number, a Padrón registration certificate, and a detailed inventory of all items being moved. We handle the T1 transit documentation and guide you through the Transfer of Residence qualification to potentially avoid paying Spanish VAT on your belongings.
Yes, we run the Valencia-to-UK direction on the same regular routes, so a return move can often be arranged as a cost-effective back-load. We handle the UK customs side (ToR1 relief) for you. Our guide to moving back to the UK from Spain walks through the paperwork and timing, and our Spain to UK removals page carries the prices and collection areas.
By video. Moves between the UK and Spain are surveyed by video rather than in person, so nobody has to fly out. Walk through the property on your phone, room by room, and send it to us on WhatsApp on 07861 930529, or book a video survey online.
A great deal of Valencia housing is apartments with lifts too small for furniture, and the streets in Ciutat Vella and El Carmen are narrow. We run a smaller transhipment vehicle in to the door and shuttle the load out to where the lorry can stand safely. Where the street needs a parking suspension for loading we will tell you at survey stage; booking the bay is the customer's responsibility, though we can arrange it in advance for a small extra fee. See our guide to removal van parking permits.
Pianos travel routinely on the same load as the rest of the household, see our piano removals service. Packing is optional and comes at the level you choose: a full pack, fragile items only, or you pack and we load. See our packing service and export wrapping pages. We do not move cars or other motor vehicles.
There is no flat rate, because a two bed flat and a four bed house are simply different jobs. The bands we work to are £1,200 upwards for a part load, £2,500 to £4,500 for a one or two bed home, £4,000 to £7,000 for a three bed, and £6,500 to £10,000 and above from four bedrooms up. Volume sets the base figure. After that it is access at each end, whether you want the packing done for you, any heavy or awkward pieces, and how far we travel to collect in the UK. Yes, and it is arranged as part of the same job rather than handed to a third party. Goods go into sealed and numbered containers at our own Oxfordshire warehouse, checked against the written inventory, and the first two months are free on European removals. When the Valencia end is ready you tell us and we schedule the run. More detail is on our storage page.
Anywhere on the mainland. Most Valencia loads start in Oxfordshire and the counties around it, but we run regularly to Scotland, Wales, London and Manchester. See long distance removals for how the UK leg is planned. The collection postcode does change the figure, so include it when you enquire.
Less than most people fear, but it has to be right. Every European job carries a written inventory, prepared whoever packed the boxes, and that inventory is what the customs entry is built from. We put the application together and a customs agent lodges the entry at the border. The duty relief exists for people genuinely moving their home, so it does not extend to a holiday property or a second home. The removals to Spain page sets out the requirements, and export wrapping is available for anything that needs protecting for the distance.
Yes. Valencia city deliveries run alongside Sagunto, Puzol, El Puig, Cullera, Gandia, Oliva and the inland towns towards Requena, and the same route carries on south to Alicante and the Costa Blanca or north towards Barcelona. Give us the exact address and we will say plainly what will reach the door.
